France School Holidays 2026

France's 2026 school holidays follow the three-zone system, with Easter on 5 April placing spring holidays (vacances de Pâques/printemps) in late March and early April across all zones.

Two Friday public holidays in May (1 May and 8 May) create long weekends that fall during the school year — students do not automatically get these days off, but many families plan around them.

Bastille Day 2026: 14 July falls on a Tuesday, within the summer holidays for all zones. Families can use Monday 13 July as a bridge day for a four-day national holiday weekend.

Christmas 2026: Christmas school holidays run from approximately 19 December 2026 to 4 January 2027 for all zones. Christmas Day (25 December, Friday) gives the break a clean long-weekend start.
