France School Holidays 2025

France's 2025 school holidays follow the three-zone system. Easter falling on 20 April means spring school holidays (vacances de Pâques/printemps) are in mid-to-late April across all zones — slightly later than in 2024.

Bastille Day (14 July, Monday) falls within the summer school holiday period for all zones. The three-day national holiday weekend in mid-July is a popular time for families already on summer break to plan outings and short trips.

May 2025 bridge days: Three Thursday public holidays in May (1 May, 8 May, 29 May) offer bridge day opportunities. French schools do not typically take extra days off for bridge days — these are workplace decisions — but the Ascension Thursday (29 May) often triggers a long weekend for school staff and students in some academies.

Christmas 2025: Christmas holidays run from approximately 20 December 2025 to 5 January 2026 — the same for all three zones. Christmas Day on a Thursday means the festive period has a clean structure.
